In 1993 former CSC employees Mike Hearne and Darcy Killpack lived near the eastern tip of Oahu.  Mike, long eager to investigate his backyard deep in the Kalama Valley saw his chance when Mark Finkbeiner and Shan Burkhalter came to visit. After negotiating jagged lava outcrops, cacti, and acacia thorns, this is the vista with which they were rewarded.
