Lāna’i, Hawai’i – January 2008
David Porter

This natural rock garden, created by thousands of years of erosion, adds to the diverse landscape of the islands of Hawai`i. Ancient legends associate the site variously with the gardens and sculptures of the Hawaiian gods and the spirits of ancient island warriors.
Coastal Gallery > Manau, HI

In 1993 former CSC employees Mike Hearne and Darcy Killpack lived near the eastern tip of Oahu. Mike, long eager to investigate his backyard deep in the Kalama Valley saw his chance when Mark Finkbeiner and Shan Burkhalter came to visit. After negotiating jagged lava outcrops, cacti, and acacia thorns, this is the vista with which they were rewarded.
